ECC Scholarships

  • With so many of our Streamwood High School graduates headed to Elgin Community college, we want to draw your attention to the many scholarships Elgin Community College provides. Be aware: the deadline for most of these scholarships is November 1st for Spring Start and May 1st for Fall Start.

Start by going to http://www.elgin.edu/students.aspx?id=142 and reviewing all the information there. The downloadable document ECC Board of Trustrees Scholarships has detailed information about all of the ECC scholarships.

There are also three fantastic ways to help make ECC more affordable that are open to ALL students:

    • GED Tuition Waiver - open to students who live in-district, successfully complete a GED class at ECC or School District U-46, and successfully pass the GED test. Students are eligible for free in-district tuition for up to three (3) credit hours of college credit. Use within one year from the date requirements are completed.
    • English as a Second Language Tuition Waiver - open to students successfully completing ESL 019, ESL 099 or the college's Intensive English program. Students are eligible for free in-district tuition for up to three (3) credit hours of college credit. Use within one year from the date requirements are completed.
    • Honors Course Tuition Waiver - open to students who earn an A or B in an honors course and maintain a 3.25 or higher cumulative grade point average. Students may use the Honors Course Tuition Waiver for their next honors class. Honors course tuition waivers are issued at the in-district tuition rate and are valid for one year from date of successful completion of honors class.
