- According to federal law, children can enroll in public schools regardless of their immigrant status.
- A student's immigration status will have no impact on the quality of education she/he receives.
- School District U-46 will not share a student's or family's immigration status with federal immigration officials.
- U-46 schools will never ask for a student's social security number.
- Immigration enforcement personnel are required to have a criminal warrant signed by a judge before accessing U-46 schools and other District facilities.
- Schools are not allowed to disclose any information to ICE, unless it is under judicial orders or parent permission.
- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) presence on school grounds is highly unlikely.
