USDA Grants Free Waiver Flexibility to School Meal Programs

Sept. 1, 2020

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced Monday that schools will continue to have free meal waiver flexibility through Dec. 31. The announcement allowed U-46 to resume its free meal distribution beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 40 sites across the District. All children 18 and under can receive a free breakfast and lunch on weekdays this fall during Distance Learning.

These meals are packaged to take home. No paperwork is required to pick up the meals - just visit the pick-up location most convenient for you. Children do not have to be present in order for parents or guardians to pick up meals. For an updated schedule and a list of locations, please visit www.u-46.org/food-distribution.
