Terri Hemmert High School Radio Awards

2019-2020 School Year 

ana pascual Elgin High School Class of 2020 member Ana Pascual received first place in the On-Air Radio Show/Interview/Talk Show/Podcast category of the 2019-20 Columbia College Chicago’s Terri Hemmert High School Student Radio/Audio Awards.  Ana's winning piece was a series of interviews with Elgin High's speech team at their sectional competition in the spring of 2019. 2018-2019 School Year 

EHS Radio Winners Elgin High School Class of 2019 graduates Franklin Aguilar and Damaryan Benton received an honorable mention in the On-Air Radio Show/Interview/Talk Show/Podcast category of the 2018-19 Columbia College Chicago’s Terri Hemmert High School Student Radio/Audio Awards. Aguilar and Benton collaborated to create a 30-second PSA for U-46’s WEPS radio station that encouraged students to visit Elgin High School’s guidance office and pick up various scholarship applications. Great job Elgin High Maroons!

 


2016-2017 School Year 
Awards received Oct. 2017

Elgin High students with Terri Hemmert Congratulations to three Class of 2017 Elgin High School radio club graduates who each received recognition during the 2016-17 Columbia College Chicago’s Terri Hemmert High School Radio Awards Ceremony on Oct. 14. Janki Dave was awarded second place in the interviewing category for her interview with Chad Varga, and Aneri Brahmbhatt received honorable mention for an interview with Steve Baskis. Anna Bounchaleun was recognized with an honorable mention for her radio public service production for the “Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher Contest." Way to go Elgin High Maroons!

 


 

2015-2016 School Year 
Awards received Oct. 2016

Elgin high school receiving Terri Hemmert award Congratulations to three Elgin High School radio club students who each received an honorable mention at Columbia College Chicago’s Terri Hemmert High School Radio Elgin high school students with radio award Awards on Saturday, October 15. Senior Janki Dave was recognized the interviewing category for her “Interview with Mr. Broadnax,” junior Dae'vion Arthur was honored in the radio sportscasting category for his coverage of the “Elgin/Larkin Girls Basketball Match Up” and junior Trevon Morris received a mention in the radio public service campaign/production category for his  “Don't Text and Drive” campaign. Well done!
