Encourage Good Attendance

Regular attendance makes children feel better about school - and themselves. Build good attendance habits early so they know that getting to school on time, every day is important.
Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic growth, starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely and understand why every minute in school matters for success in school and in life.
We understand that being absent is unavoidable due to health issues or other circumstances. But, when students miss too much school— regardless of the reason – it can make it hard for them to keep up with their learning and growth.
Here are some resources to help build good habits:

- That leaves 189 days to spend on family time, visits, holidays, shopping, and other appointments.
