Modified Meal Requests

  • Reasonable meal accommodations can be made for students with disabilities or special dietary needs, such as allergens, once parents or guardians submit a completed U-46 Modified Meal Request Form. Requests for vegetarian meals will be classified as a meal preference, and families will be referred to the vegetarian-based meal option at the elementary and secondary levels. Please note that our vegetarian items may include eggs and/or cheese. We are unable to accommodate strict vegetarian preferences.

Parents or guardians requesting plant-based lunches for their students must submit a completed U-46 Plant-Based Lunch Request Form. Food & Nutrition Services does not accept plant-based lunch request forms from third party companies.

Please note that options and resources are limited for modified meals.

Completed forms must be sent to U-46 Registered Dietitian Judith Naughton at JudithNaughton@u-46.org. Food & Nutrition Services aims for a 2-3 week turnaround upon receiving the completed forms. Parents or guardians should continue sending their child to school with meals from home until they receive confirmation from Food & Nutrition Services that we can accommodate the request.
