  • School District U-46 will be part of a presentation at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, designed to provide parents and guardians with tools to help their teenagers avoid vaping and substance abuse.

    P.E.P. Talk Parent University, with P.E.P. standing for Prepare, Educate, Event, is being offered at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin, in the Elgin Room on the second floor.

    Other organizations collaborating on the event are Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Elgin and Ecker Center for Behavioral Health.

    The P.E.P. Talk is free to the public and will include Spanish interpretation. Children ages 4 and under may attend with their parents. Children ages 11 and older can visit the library while their parents attend the presentation, as the material covered is sensitive in nature.
