The safety of students and staff at School District U-46 is a top priority. In today’s society, the heightened focus on security and safety protocols is imperative. Safe school planning is a partnership that includes local emergency responders, community members, government leaders, social service networks, parents, and students. Through this collaboration, safer environments for students and staff can be accomplished.
This is the work of the School Safety department. This department is responsible for working with the schools and operational service departments to implement district-wide safety standards and comprehensive crisis response plans while maintaining a high level of building security.

After six years of unwavering dedication, Officer Courtney Stoiber is retiring from her role as the School Resource Officer at Tefft Middle School. Since 2018, Officer Stoiber has been a pillar of support and safety, fostering a nurturing environment where students feel secure and valued. Her commitment extended beyond the duties of law enforcement; she became a mentor and a friend, guiding countless young minds with compassion and wisdom. Her tireless efforts to build trust and promote a positive school culture have left an indelible mark on the Tefft Middle School community. As she embarks on this new chapter, Officer Stoiber leaves behind a legacy of excellence and heartfelt service that will be remembered for years to come.
