Dream Academy Virtual Graduation

  • The DREAM Academy is a form of alternative education which more than half a dozen different alternative programs to serve students from U-46's five comprehensive high schools. The purpose of the new, smaller setting is to give students an educational option to maximize their individual potential. Students are selected to attend the DREAM Academy for a variety of reasons - social, academic, or social - that have made it difficult for them to learn in a traditional school environment.

Each month, the DREAM Academy holds graduation ceremonies for the students who have reached their graduation requirements. These would typically take place in the auditorium of the Educational Services Center.  Due to distance learning, the DREAM Academy conducted a virtual ceremony for the 104 students who met their graduation requirements in March, April, or May. These students are always invited, as well, to participate in the graduation ceremonies for their "home" high school.
