School District U-46 recently honored all first-place winners in this 2022-23 Voces del Corazón/Voices from the Heart Writing & Art Contest.  

Dual Language and ESL students from across our elementary, middle and high schools were challenged to write essays for the contest about the value of bilingualism and judged by volunteers at the school and district-level.

All first-place winners received a certificate congratulating their work, and four schools won an original mural designed by U-46 Dual Language students. Also, nine winners were selected, and their art designs were shared with the four winning schools to vote on their school’s mural image. Individual art contest winners received art supplies at the Voces del Corazón celebration.
