What is the most important thing you learned in high school?
Every decision you make matters and will affect you, either positively or negatively.
What is your favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory has to be getting involved in a lot of groups and organizations during my senior year of high school. This made me feel more of a part of something as opposed to just a GPA.
What is your best advice to future first-generation students?
Life is a sum of all your choices. When you look back at your past, be sure to look back, happy and proud of the decisions you made growing up.
What is a challenge that you have overcome as a first-generation college student?
There were several occasions in my high school journey in which I had lost all motivation for school work. Since I would never see my parents because of their busy work schedule, I had to keep pushing myself forward. For myself and for them. The hardest part of high school isn´t the school work, but the adversity that comes with it.
What does it mean to you to receive the Superintendent’s Scholarship?
Winning this scholarship for me means that the effort I have put in school was worth the struggle and adversity.
