The most important thing I have learned in high school is to never be afraid, to try new things, and to put 110% in everything I do.

My favorite high school memory was facilitating the Student Summit.

What is your best advice to future first-generation students?

Never be afraid of being who you are and always do your best, even when times get hard.

What is a challenge that you have overcome as a first-generation college student?

One challenge I have overcome is being accepted into college. For a while, I had thought that I wasn't smart enough to get into college. However, when that admission letter came in the mail I knew that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.

What does it mean to you to receive the Superintendent’s Scholarship?

When I was awarded the Superintendent's Scholarship, I finally realized that there are people who believe in me and my future success.
