What is the most important thing you learned in high school?

The most important thing I learned in high school is that if you want to achieve something, always work hard for it and make sure to keep track of the progress you have made.

What is your favorite high school memory?

My favorite high school memory is of my AVID class in 2017 when we would have a stressful week my AVID teacher, Mr. Wojtas, would have us do team bonding activities such as board games, pumpkin carving contest and many more.

What is your best advice to future first-generation students?

Working hard, taking advantage of the resources around you, and staying focused will lead you to success.

What is a challenge that you have overcome as a first-generation college student?

Being a first-generation college student, I had to do my research and reach out to teachers, my counselor, and people from my community in order to understand the process of applying to college because I could not use my parents as a resource when it came to college.

What does it mean to you to receive the Superintendent’s Scholarship?

To me, the Superintendent's Scholarship represents an opportunity as it will help me further my education, which is one of the things in life that no one can take away from you.
