No matter the race, culture, language barriers or medical history, success is obtainable through hard work and perseverance.
What is your favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory is Hawkfest, an event where every club in my school comes together no matter the race, culture or judgment, everyone supports each other and their cause.
What is your best advice to future first-generation students?
No matter how many times someone tells you that you can't, always believe that you will. Anything is possible with the right work ethic.
What is a challenge that you have overcome as a first-generation college student?
A lack of college readiness, family support and family stability.
What does it mean to you to receive the Superintendent’s Scholarship?
It means being able to create a pathway to those around me; allowing them to understand that anything is possible and how coming from poverty is not an obstacle when you have perseverance and determination.
