What school will you be attending in the fall?
Illinois Institute of Technology.

Major/minor?
Cell and Tissue Biomedical Engineering.

What is the most important thing you learned in high school?
Balance is essential. While trying to juggle around many advanced classes, sports, and extracurricular activities, it is easy to forget to spend time with those who are very important to us in our lives. Finding a healthy balance between everything we do is the best way to live life happily.

What is your favorite high school memory?
The Academy Senior Chicago Trip was definitely one of my favorites. I made multiple memories with my closest friends as we went sightseeing and engaged in fun activities. I still remember bruising my knees from all the times I fell when we ice skated.

What was your favorite class or learning experience?
My favorite learning experience was competing at the Illinois HOSA State Leadership Conference for three years consecutively. I learned so much from all the hours I put in to study. However, I also developed meaningful relationships with my peers, and now I can gladly refer to them as some of my closest friends.

Share your best advice for incoming freshmen.
High school is truly a journey where you find your own identity and oftentimes, learn what you want to do and achieve in your life. Therefore, please don’t be scared to try new things. Join clubs! Join sports! Enroll in difficult classes! Overcome challenges! Live life in the moment, and be friends with those that will always be on your side no matter what happens.

What or who do you account for your academic success and ranking in the top 2 percent of your senior class?
My father has always pushed me to go above and beyond to broaden my spectrum of knowledge in all important fields of life. But along with him, my friends and teachers have also made an immense impact on the person I have grown to become.

What are you learning about yourself and the world as we collectively face this global pandemic?
A lot of the things we take granted for are actually privileges that we have. It is significant to recognize these privileges and respect them since everyone isn't fortunate enough to have them. Additionally, unity and teamwork are the best ways to tackle problems and find permanent solutions.
