What are your post-high school plans?
I will be attending Occidental College and studying critical theory and social justice, and minoring in theater.
What is the most important thing you learned in high school?
Be open to everyone. You never know what you can learn from someone you might never have talked to before.
What is your favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory was the homecoming bonfire sophomore year. It was after the powderpuff game and we all just had a blast being together.
What was your favorite class or learning experience?
My favorite class was AP World; it was so difficult yet so interesting. I also got a 5 on the AP test and will never not brag about it.
Share your best advice for incoming freshmen:
People are going to act like there’s some social hierarchy but in reality, no one is off limits. Be friends with everyone, no matter how “popular” or “unpopular” they may seem.
What or who do you acknowledge for your academic success, and ranking in the top 2 percent of your senior class?
If I hadn’t put in the work. I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you past self for being so dedicated!
What life lessons or observations have you gained about yourself, and the world, during the 2020-21 school year?
I’ve learned a lot about the aspects of adult life: relationships, friendships, jobs. The only person you’ll always have is yourself. The world keeps turning, even if you are missing a year and a half of high school. You have to just do your best and keep fighting for yourself.
